Wall of Perches

Habitat enrichment programs such as used by the San Diego Zoo are proven to improve your parrots overall mental and physical well being. To make sure your parrot’s feet and beak stay healthy try building a wall of perches that simulates the natural ledges parrots hang from in the wild.

Simply attach a few perches to the sides of the cage going from left to right working your way UP the back on the inside of the cage.  Perches should be flush against the cage with bolts on the outside of the cage sides. Use as many perches as you like and nestle mineral blocks in between building a complete wall. Hang a toy from the top to encourage him to find a way to get to it.

Your parrot’s feet will enjoy the different textures and the perches leave plenty of wing space.
