Slice it! Dice it! Chop it! and Cube it!

All birds need fresh fruits and veggies, but sometimes it’s not as easy as simply putting them in the bowl. Why?  Because shape matters!
I thought pre-sliced carrots were my gold cap’s favorite veggie until a good friend of mine told me one day that a particular bird food didn’t sell well because most birds didn’t like the shape. Well, that kinda’ got me thinking: if I changed the shape of the veggies, maybe they would be a hit. Sure enough, it worked.  Cucumbers are back on the list.
In the wild, a large part of a parrot’s world is spent discovering new things and picking up things to “see” if they like or dislike them. That said,  keep reintroducing those hard to feed veggies your parrot “needs.” If all else fails, you have only spent a few extra pennies for a quick shredding toy that’s healthy, too.
