How to Make Feeding Fresh Veggies Fun and Easy.

I have a saying at my house: “If it’s good for “B” (my gold cap) it’s good for me.” Essentially, if my parrot can eat it, I buy it. Use fresh veggies any chance you can over frozen, dried or canned. Simply chop a few extra pieces as you prepare each meal in your daily schedule for birdie.
Fresh veggies are less watery than fruits, so they make excellent “foot toys” to shred in between wooden toys. If your parrot is a forager, use raw whole carrots (Vitamin A), cucumber ribs (reduces protein build up) and sweet potatoes (Vitamin C) as “foraging sticks.” Simply place them in the bottom of a clean cage or on top of clean newspapers.  Be creative and take on new flavors you and your parrot will both enjoy.  The benefits are a less agitated, happier and healthier bird.
