Making New Foods A Treat

All parrot owners have had that self-defeating moment when we are walking through our local pet food aisle dazzled by all the colors, flavors and “New” products by our favorite bird food maker when the realization about parrots is startling clear: they can love a food one day and the next day snub their beaks at it.
So, when you parrot is as some specialist say “off his/her food,” which simply means birdie is board of eating the same flavors every day, take advantage of it, exploit it and use it as an opportunity to try something new.
The next time you go shopping for standard parrot staples and are drawn to something interesting, go ahead, and indulge in your own taste of what you think birdie may get a taste for later. Just keep it stashed back in a cool dry place unopened for that window of opportunity when a new flavor might be a treat instead of task.  As long as your experimental food meets your parrot’s health requirements, why not go ahead and be adventurous.
Come back soon for more tips on making your parrot healthy and happy.
